Kittens!!!!

There are kittens everywhere! My mom has brought four little guys and they’re momma I’m to our basement. Plus, there are two more sets of 4 kittens living in our backyard. I’m not great at math and I don’t have enough toes to count that high but that’s a lot of kittens!!! I hope I’m still cute enough that mom won’t decide to replace me. But how could she?…I mean at how stinking cute I am…

Big Sis

My big sister is Einstein. She’s my big sister in more ways then one.

First, she’s the biggest cat in the house and she uses that to her advantage. I see mommy and dad catering to her every need. She frequent gets helicopter rides up to her favorite seat. She gets rides upstairs for special love on the bed. She gets special food brought right to her in her chair. And at treat time, sometimes she doesn’t even have to come to the treat room! Mommy says she has arthritis. I think she’s faking it because she likes the special treatment.

Second, she’s the oldest cat in the house. Mommy and daddy adopted her, along with Norton, back in 2003. So that makes her 12. Yikes, she is old. For many, many years it was just her and Norton in the house. I guess she got used to their routine. Because she sure doesn’t like having me and Casper around. If either of us gets within striking range, she ltd us know we are too close with a low growl and a super scary hiss. Now, I’ve never actually seen her swat at either one if us, but I’m not testing those waters. Her hiss is so scary!

I do have one fun game I like to play with her. She doesn’t get down often from her chair in the media room. But when she does, I like to stalk her. I’m a pretty good stalker too. Most times she doesn’t even notice I’m there, watching her every move, sneaking up around corners to watch her. She doesn’t move very fast so stalking her is pretty easy. Sometimes she only moves as far as the front hall and then she plops down and stays there for hours. But sometimes, she sneaks down into the basement. I’m not sure what motivates her to relocate to the basement cause all she does down there is get up on the couch and fall asleep which is exactly what she was doing in the media room. Maybe when I’m old, I’ll understand.

Stalking Einstein is one of the things I like to do when I get bored. She hates it, but I love it! One of these days I’ll win her over and she’ll happily let me sit down in the chair next to her. Maybe.

Home Alone

My Mom and Dad have abandoned us! I haven’t seen them in 4 days. Luckily, some nice lady has taken pity on us and is coming by to feed us. She’s even taking care of our litter boxes. Casper keeps hiding from her but I’m slowly coming around and starting to give her some attention. I hope she doesn’t abandon us too.

I’m pretty bored. Without my usual playtime with mommy and my frequent love sessions with daddy, I find myself with a little bit too much energy.  So I spend most of my day attacking Casper. I think it’s his fault that mommy and daddy have left and I let him know it every chance I get. My favorite thing to do is sneak up on him when he’s sleeping and give him a little warning tap on the head. Then I runaway and he chases me. He’s pretty fast. Sometimes I think he slows up to let me believe I’m out running him. He’s a good big brother even if he did run off Mommy and Daddy.

Bath Time

It’s #TongueOutTuesday.

In my backyard there are a couple of feral cats that my mommy feeds regularly (she always makes sure that I have food first though). Last summer, this momma cat “Ringo” had a litter of four kittens. Everyday my mommy went outside to check on them, feed them and she took a million photos of them. I mean I get that she thinks they are cute and all but what am I? Chopped Liver? I mean they clearly aren’t as cute as me. Right? Anyhow, back to the point. One day after feeding them some food, my mommy caught on film a pretty sweet moment between the momma cat and one of her kittens (Mommy called her Joey). It was an after dinner bath. Really can’t these kittens keep them selves clean? I have to clean up after myself (well maybe not). Anyhow, guess I need to up my cuteness game before more kittens start appearing in the yard this summer. Hmmm, what should my cute go-to move be this year?

Wine Tasting

Have you guys every tried this stuff they call ‘wine’? Oh My Gosh — it is so sweet and yummy! My mommy let me have a little taste of hers recently. I love it! She only let me have a little bit. I gave her all my best cuteness moves too but she stood her ground. Said I was too little to have more than just a taste. Oh it was so yummy I can’t even describe it. Plus it made me feel so good, all warm and fuzzy on the inside. I did get a little more hyper than usual afterwards. Daddy said ‘ Fooly Time started early tonight’. Heehee!

Dinner with friends

When I was just a wee-little guy, I wasn’t a very good eater. I really liked the warm milk my mommy fed me from the bottle. Plus, during feeding time, she snuggled me up tight and loved on me — who would want that to change. But it turns out my mommy is smarter than I give her credit for.

You see she tricked me into learning to love wet food. As you probably know, us cats are very social eaters. So, she set up a plate of wet food with my stuffed friends around it. I thought my friends were eating so I joined right in.

Of course, now that I am older and smarter, I know that my stuffed friends weren’t actually eating. And I also now appreciate her showing me the ways of the yummy food (and treats).

Casper

My big brother Casper is a weird-o! I don’t understand most of what he does but I’m always intrigued by him. For instance, this morning during our pre-breakfast playtime, I caught him wondering into Mommy and Daddy’s bathroom. This totally interrupted my playtime as I just had to find out what he was up to. So, I snuck in behind him and peaked around the corner. OMG! You’ll never guess what I caught him doing. He was drinking the water out of Daddy’s toilet! I was literally floored. I plopped down right there and just watched in disbelief…and wonderment.

I wonder if one day I’ll be strong enough to stand up on my back legs and enjoy the fresh water of the magical toilet. Although given Mommy’s reaction when she joined me in the bathroom to see what I was watching, I don’t think I’ll be trying it anytime soon. I do NOT like making my Mommy made because when she’s mad at me she doesn’t play with me as much. I try to tell her that if she’d just play with me she’d be less mad at me but she doesn’t listen when she’s angry or frustrated.

So maybe someday I’ll get to try the toilet water but until then I’ll stick to the water-bowls that I know I’m allowed to drink from.
